An idea before it’s time is a
rebellion Building of dams have invited criticisms since the idea of
hydroelectricity was first expressed. Itscritics have believed that dams are
perhaps a boon looking bane for the mankind. The arguments they give are baseless
and do not hold much ground. It’s almost like a game of cards, where in for
every jack of criticism; there is a queen of advantage.
Loss of land and reallocation of the
human population around the area of reservoirs, they say, is a move that is
regressive in its own sense. But, the people who say this, need much more than
a reality check. The electricity generated by the hydroelectric plant is not
being used by aliens…isn’t it? It’s those very people who enjoy the fruits of
this great innovation. And just besides this advantage of electricity, they get
water for drinking and irrigation. People need to get real.
And when this argument falls flat on
their face, they claim loss of the ecosystem mean, these people have a lost of
vague arguments…! Are your ready for no development just because you want to
preserve nature. Fine then, you stop using all the luxuries that you use which
are inherently of a development nature. Governmental bodies and Ministry of Environment
approve these projects and thus..you, you and you sir, have no right to act as
a hinderance in this great Indian developmental story, of which, dams are a
significant part of.
What? You still want more?
No!
Wise you are!
Allow e to comment, but the people who
criticise this mammoth phenomenon of hydroelectricity are little more than
environmental extremists who use pseudoscientific agitprop to scuttle the
development of this nation!
